INDEPENDENT STUDY / ESTUDIO INDEPENDIENTE

Now that the seniors are facing theirs last quarter at school, time constrains create tensions between teachers and students because  the first feel the pressure to finish their curricular program and the second feel they have already finished their obligations at school and need time to prepare for their new life.
In this time of year, the most useful strategy to work with seniors is INDEPENDENT STUDY. Teachers may prepare a package of readings, assignments, and resources that students may do in their own time and submit in paper or via a digital document.  Teachers may even go as far as preparing customized packages depending on the level of the student. Assignments–although similar in nature–may vary to avoid plagiarism issues.
